“The Impact-Driven companies of the future are building and championing a new type of company that puts their people first."

The Impact 100 Awards recognizes and celebrates the most impactful companies to work for across the globe, honoring the organizations large and small for their commitments to impact and building a progressive, people-first workplace.

Impact 100 takes you on a world tour of the top 100 most impactful companies to work for, the causes they fight for, and the people behind them. We explore beyond the surface level to bring to life what it actually means to work inside a company that makes a difference. Is a career with purpose just a buzzword or does life just feel different for the people at the forefront? What can we all learn from finding meaning in our careers, and where do we find it?

We reviewed thousands of companies of all sizes and interviewed over 20,000 employees to uncover the companies making a true impact - where all employees, from top to bottom, genuinely feel like their contributions are making a difference to a cause they care about.

This is the type of company you would recommend to your friends and family, the type of organization worth paying attention to.

Today, we introduce Impact 100. Each week, we introduce a featured Impact 100 winner across 22 different industry sectors. Organizations range from small startups to global giants. Some of which have teams with just a handful of dedicated employees, such as the innovating women's health champions Iron Health, to a team on a mission of achieving 100% clean energy in America with Advance Energy, to educating America’s workforce with organizations like InStride.

Some have rapidly growing teams with a few hundred employees, like Little Leaf Farms, the team behind transforming the way food is grown, or LanzaTech, who are recycling carbon with biology, to organizations such as Transcarent, the one place for health and care.

Familiar faces that are still fighting their cause include Headspace, TerraCycle, Thrive, and, of course, Open AI.

No matter their size, the Impact 100 organizations for 2024 have demonstrated exceptional commitment to their employees and meet verified employee benchmarks, setting them apart as leaders in people-first culture. These companies understand that maintaining a truly progressive work environment isn't a mere checkbox exercise. It’s a long-term commitment, a promise to every individual that they matter, that they’re more than just their job title.

In addition to introducing the companies at the forefront of change, hear directly from the people behind the mission, what drives them, what keeps them up at night, and learn how today's biggest problems are being solved like never before.

Impact 100 is about digging deeper and going behind the scenes, so we evaluated thousands of organizations based on their impact, as well as their current and future employee initiatives, results, and accountable commitments to determine their rank in employee sentiment and employee innovation.

Along with an in-depth review of current and future measurements, and initiatives, we developed an anonymous internal survey with a specific set of open-ended questions designed to uncover how employees truly feel about their company, without the bias company leaders might promote. This approach brings meaningful efficiencies to the primary research process.

Our ranking system consists of two categories of questions: closed-ended and open-ended. Closed-ended responses include single-answer questions, and an analysis of the percentage of employees within each company that participated in the survey. Culture Changers also analyzed the emotions behind over 20,000 employees' open-ended responses and determined if they mentioned specific keywords. Responses were also examined for multiple specific keywords and phrases, and the sentiment surrounding them was analyzed.

The percentage of respondents per company is factored into the final analysis. The survey is a 'sentiment' analysis, where the vast majority of the weight is placed on the open-ended responses.

Once the survey is complete, all responses are analyzed, datasets are normalized, and bespoke weighting is applied to each category to derive a single score for each company. We then individually assessed companies to identify those that rank highest based on current initiatives and results, as well as future commitments, and the employee experience."
